Nicola Heard MARLA


Nicola has been a pioneer of the Estate Agent industry for over 20 years, and is still going strong today. Not only is she the Managing Director and owner of the company, she takes a hands on role in both the Sales and Lettings departments, actively offering her vast knowledge and expertise in both fields. Since Oliver Jaques started trading in 1986 in Surrey Quays, she has managed to build a fantastic rapport with landlords, vendors, tenants, and buyers as not only did she grow up locally, she takes pride in understanding the needs of all those who use our services because she knows the area like the back of her hand! Nicola is one of the few directors in the industry that not only strives for the business to continually grow and exceed expectations by performing the normal duties of an owner, she works with her staff on a day to day basis assisting with valuations, viewings and an active role in the lettings and property management department.


Michael Petherbridge MNAEA

Branch Manager

Coming from a strong customer care background in the Hospitality industry, Michael is always prepared to go the extra mile for clients. Since joining Oliver Jaques in 2000, he has worked his way through the company to be the Surrey Quays Branch Manager.  Michael always has a smile on his face and while his main aim is to ensure he is using his wealth of experience to guide clients through the complicated sales process, he is always looking to ensure buyers and sellers walk away with a good experience and fond memories of Oliver Jaques.


Paul Gibbens MNAEA

Sales Manager

Paul joined Oliver Jaques in 2010 after successfully marketing and selling residential and commercial property right across South East London and Kent.  With 15 years of experience in sales he has learnt how to combine effective selling techniques with a friendly personable manner to ensure the best result for all parties.  Knowing how important referrals are in business, Paul uses his strong industry knowledge to his advantage by advising clients through all aspects of the business and enjoys having a positive impact on all he meets.

Stephen Banks MARLA

Lettings Manager

Stephen has a vast knowledge of South East London’s property market having both worked and lived in the area for over 15 years. During this time he has quickly risen through the ranks and now enjoys managing the busiest lettings office in SE16. As a long standing advocate for regulation within our profession, Stephen prides himself on being a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents which has given his landlords and tenants the confidence in his honest and trustworthy approach to the industry. He enjoys building lasting business relationships and the fact that no two days are ever the same in the ever changing landscape of the local area. Stephen’s infectious friendly personality and constant desire to succeed as an agent also often rubs off on his colleagues.

Alex Smith

Lettings Negotiator

Alex’s passion for property began at the tender age of 10, watching as the three barns that the family owned in his home town of Clyst St Mary, Exeter, were renovated and converted into luxury apartments. Initially serving an apprenticeship in the world of classic automobile sales, he made the brave step of relocating to London, and has spent the last 18 months letting some of the well-known and sought after developments that Canary Wharf has to offer. Keen to expand his knowledge of the South-East where he now resides, Alex joins the lettings team as a negotiator, eager to make an impression on every client he meets. His enthusiasm and will to succeed, has already had a positive impact on all of his colleagues, and he looks forward to obtaining his ARLA qualification in the coming months. He firmly believes that constant communication is the golden rule of estate agency.

Matteo Donna MNAEA

Sales Negotiator

Having relocated from Italy in 2012, Matteo has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in South London’s ever changing market place. Originally from a strong sales background in his hometown of Milan, as well as spending time in Morocco and Korea, his warm, friendly and infectious personality has made an immediate effect on everyone he meets. Confidently speaking a number of languages, Matteo is able to guide his clients from a multitude of nationalities through the sales and lettings processes. He believes strong communication skills and building lasting relationships are key to being successful.

Robbie Brown

Trainee Negotiator

Robbie is the newest member of the Oliver Jaques team, having joined in the Autumn of 2017 following the successful completion of his A-Level exams.  Eager to explore a career in the property industry, he is looking forward to the next chapter of his life as a trainee negotiator at our busy Surrey Quays office.  Robbie has a hard working ethos and positive attitude which he hopes will stand him in good stead for this new challenge.


Jack Mahoney MNAEA

Senior Negotiator

Jack was groomed for the property industry, coming from a family of property professionals.   He entered the industry at a young age, working for companies such as Square Mile and Your Move. In 2010 Jack joined Oliver Jaques Bow Quarter office and quickly used his can do attitude and people skills to build strong working relationships with our clients. Now being with Oliver Jaques for over 5 years, Jack has an in-depth knowledge of the local area and has recently been awarded a Senior position. Jack is always prepared to go above and beyond to ensure our service is tailored to the needs of each individual client. Jack’s professional yet personable approach ensures you will always leave the Bow Branch with a smile.

Dominic Francois

Senior Negotiator

Dominic joined Oliver Jaques straight from University in July 2012 and graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a BSc (Hons) in Property Marketing, Design and Development.  Dominic initally joined as a trainee negotiator, a delightful and welcoming individual, he has now moved to the lettings team as a senior negotiator, carrying out viewings, negotiating lets and handling tenant and landlord enquiries.


Gina Begbie

Senior Property Manager

Celebrating her twelfth year with Oliver Jaques, Gina has lived and worked in the SE16 area all of her life so has a unique insight in to the ever changing landscape of the property business in this and all surrounding areas. Having worked very closely with Nicola, she heads up the Property Management department and has built up a relationship with all the local contractors so that if a tenant needs assistance with an issue in a property that Oliver Jaques manages, they can respond instantaneously. Gina takes pride in her work and makes it a personal mission of hers to ensure that no stone is unturned when dealing with a client.

Erika Janosova MARLA

Property Manager

Erika has over ten years’ experience working in the London property market. Having worked for various independent estate agents in West and North London, as well for a large corporate landlord in East London, Erika has managed to acquire profound knowledge and experience within nearly all aspects of property business. Erika has been focusing mainly on property management for the past few years and is ready to use her skills, ability to speak different languages, and vibrant personality to meet new challenges at Oliver Jaques.

Steve Wills

Mortgage Advisor

Steve, having been born and raised in the area, has returned to his roots by joining the team at Oliver Jaques. Steve has been in the financial services industry since 1989 and takes his role as Director of Chancery Mortgage Services very seriously. Chancery Mortgage Services serve as the link for Oliver Jaques by providing clients with all their mortgage needs. Offering a hand held service, not only does Steve provide his great knowledge of the area, but combining that with his product knowledge becomes invaluable for Oliver Jaques clients. They are awarded with his expertise in all areas of mortgages and protection products as well as having the added bonus of his professional but easy-going nature which goes a long way into helping clients take the leap into the often overwhelming world of property and mortgages. Steve assists all clients with tailor made research to make sure they get the best possible deal from the whole of the market. He ensures that all clients receive impartial advice and that, combined with his outstanding industry knowledge, excellent backup and support staff, takes the pressure off what could otherwise be a stressful experience.
